The position of Regional Manager has been subsumed under Manager Roads creating 2 vacancies.

- d)The preparation of tender documentation of road works projects.
- e)Assists in research and prepares reports for Parliamentary questions on road works.
- f)Liaises with the regional managers and coordinates road works activities.
- g)Attends site meetings and handle contractual project matters.
- h)Inspects and certifies payment certificates for payment.
- i)Participates in inspection and acceptance of road works projects.

Purpose of the Job
Supervision, survey and mapping works in accordance with standards and specification for the Authority’s roads.
Key Responsibilities
- a)Assists in the preparation of annual survey work plans.
- b)Performs survey, mapping and GIS functions e.g. engineering, cadastral, and road reserve surveys.
- c)Prepares and provides accurate survey data in digital form for feasibility studies and final road designs.
- d)Participates in the preparation of specifications and Terms of Reference for survey work to be undertaken by Consultants.
- e)Supervises survey consultants engaged by the Authority.
- f)Supervises civil works during construction.
- g)Liaises with other departments, ministries and other agencies on survey matters.
- h)Prepares periodic and ad-hoc survey report.
- i)Plans, coordinates and facilitates preparation of survey documents for the acquisition of title deeds for the Authorities’ properties and road reserves.
- j)Formulates administrative and operational procedures concerning surveying and mapping
- k)Prepares specifications and terms of reference for survey works to be contracted out.
- l)Evaluates and certifies work submitted by works and consultants.
- m)Oversees accurate mapping of roads, road reserves and road related features in digital form and maintenance of road records arising there from.

Purpose of the Job
Attend to customers and visitors with enquiries on the phone and face to supply relevant and accurate information regarding the Authority.
Job Description
- Handles switchboard by answering, screening, directing calls to appropriate staff and ensuring that all calls are answered
- Taking messages and making sure that they get to the appropriate employees
- Supporting departments in making external calls
d) Taking and relaying messages including to relevant departments/sections
- Creating and maintaining contact lists by regularly updating the customer database
- In liaison with technical departments, ensuring that telecommunication lines are working and reporting faults if any
- Exercise courtesy when dealing with customers
- Ensuring knowledge of staff movements in and out of the office
- Keeping a log of all incoming and outgoing calls
- Performing simple clerical tasks
- Attending to any other duties that maybe assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
a)Certification in Public Relations/Front Office, Secretarial studies or any other related course
b)Good telephone etiquette
Minimum two to three years experience in switchboard operations or secretarial practice
c)Should be computer literate
d)Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
e)Should have good communication skills and fluent in both Kiswahili and English
f)A pleasant personality
g)Must be a person of high integrity
