The position of Regional Manager has been subsumed under Manager Roads creating 2 vacancies.

Purpose of the Job

 

To plan, design, and supervise road works under the jurisdiction of KeNHA.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. a)Assists in the implementation of road works strategies and budgets.
  2. b)Coordinates preparation of annual road works programs.
  3. c)Oversees road works.
  4. d)The preparation of tender documentation of road works projects.
  5. e)Assists in research and prepares reports for Parliamentary questions on road works.
  6. f)Liaises with the regional managers and coordinates road works activities.
  7. g)Attends site meetings and handle contractual project matters.
  8. h)Inspects and certifies payment certificates for payment.
  9. i)Participates in inspection and acceptance of road works projects.
  10. j)Performs any other duties as assigned by the General Manager – Roads.

Purpose of the Job

 

Supervision, survey and mapping works in accordance with standards and specification for the Authority’s roads.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. a)Assists in the preparation of annual survey work plans.
  2. b)Performs survey, mapping and GIS functions e.g. engineering, cadastral, and road reserve surveys.
  3. c)Prepares and provides accurate survey data in digital form for feasibility studies and final road designs.
  4. d)Participates in the preparation of specifications and Terms of Reference for survey work to be undertaken by Consultants.
  5. e)Supervises survey consultants engaged by the Authority.
  6. f)Supervises civil works during construction.
  7. g)Liaises with other departments, ministries and other agencies on survey matters.
  8. h)Prepares periodic and ad-hoc survey report.
  9. i)Plans, coordinates and facilitates preparation of survey documents for the acquisition of title deeds for the Authorities’ properties and road reserves.
  10. j)Formulates administrative and operational procedures concerning surveying and mapping
  11. k)Prepares specifications and terms of reference for survey works to be contracted out.
  12. l)Evaluates and certifies work submitted by works and consultants.
  13. m)Oversees accurate mapping of roads, road reserves and road related features in digital form and maintenance of road records arising there from.
  14. n)Performs any other duties as assigned by the Manager (P& E).

  3. c)Undertakes site visits and monitors/reports progress of works.
  4. d)Carries out supervision of road maintenance activities as per the annual Road Works programme.
  5. e)Monitors road maintenance projects to ensure they are executed in accordance with standards and specifications.
  6. f)Prepares periodic progress reports on maintenance activities.
  7. g)Performs any other duties as assigned by the Senior Engineer.

  3. c)Prepares survey specifications and Terms of Reference for survey works to be contracted.
  4. d)Carries out supervision of civil works during construction on road reserves.
  5. e)Liaises with other departments and other agencies on survey matters.
  6. f)Prepares periodic survey reports for the region.
  7. g)Supervises technical staff working on projects within the region.
  8. h)Protects road reserves and ensures acquisition of road reserves in the region.
  9. i)Evaluates and certifies work submitted by consultants on road designs and road reserve acquisition.

a)      Assists in preparation of Audit test procedures, drafts notifications and Request for Information Memos

 

b)      Carries out audit tests on Internal Controls in accounting, administration and operational procedures

 

c)      Prepares and files minutes of the Entrance and Exit meetings

 

d)      Assists in the preparation of draft audit reports

 

e)      Ensures the Audit Working Paper File is complete and well referenced

 

f)       Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Job specifications

 

a)      A degree in a Business related field

 

b)      CPA II

 

c)      2 years working experience

Typist/Receptionist (Switchboard)

Purpose of the Job

 

Attend to customers and visitors with enquiries on the phone and face to supply relevant and accurate information regarding the Authority.

 

Job Description

 

  1. Handles switchboard by answering, screening, directing calls to appropriate staff and ensuring  that all calls are answered
  2. Taking messages and making sure that they get to the appropriate employees
  3. Supporting departments in making external calls

 

d) Taking and relaying messages including to relevant departments/sections

 

  1. Creating and maintaining contact lists by regularly updating the customer database
  2. In liaison with technical departments, ensuring that telecommunication lines are working and reporting faults if any
  3. Exercise courtesy when dealing with customers
  4. Ensuring knowledge of staff movements in and out of the office
  5. Keeping a log of all incoming and outgoing calls
  6. Performing simple clerical tasks
  7. Attending to any other duties that maybe assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

a)Certification in Public Relations/Front Office, Secretarial studies or any other related course

b)Good telephone etiquette

Minimum two to three years experience in switchboard operations or secretarial practice

c)Should be computer literate

d)Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision

e)Should have good communication skills and fluent in both Kiswahili and English

f)A pleasant personality

g)Must be a person of high integrity
