Commissioning of Kisumu (Mamboleo) – Kakamega Road (A1) and Launch of Ahero Interchange:

PROJECT LOCATION


Kisumu – Kakamega Road
The Kisumu (Mamboleo) – Kakamega road is a component of the Kisumu – Kakamega – Webuye - Kitale highway which is being rehabilitated under the

GOK/World Bank nanced Kenya Transport Sector Support Project (KTSSP).


The Kisumu (Mamboleo) – Kakamega road project is approximately 47 kilometres in length and starts at Mamboleo (junction of A1 and C674 formerly C34)

on the outskirts of Kisumu City and runs in a northerly direction through Riat Hills, Kiboswa, Majengo, Mbale, Chavakali, Khayega and ends in Kakamega

Town near Bukhungu Stadium. The project road traverses the counties of Kisumu, Nandi, Vihiga and Kakamega.

 

Ahero Interchange

Ahero Interchange, which is another component of the Kenya Transport Sector Support Project, is located at the junction of the Kisii - Ahero - Kisumu Road (A1)

and Ahero - Kericho (A12 formerly B1) Road at Ahero in Kisumu County.
